Long Island cybersecurity services with 24/7 detection and response
Long Island cybersecurity services for companies with an IT team but no security team, in Nassau, Suffolk and New York City. Round-the-clock managed detection and response against ransomware, phishing and account takeover, identity and Microsoft 365 protection, and the testing and reporting your insurance carrier, your customers and your regulator are asking for.
Long Island cybersecurity services your IT team can run with
TDS Cybersecurity adds the layers an internal IT lead cannot staff alone: a 24/7 security operations center watching every alert, protection for identities and Microsoft 365, scheduled testing, and a compliance program with a named owner. Delivered as a monthly service, in step with your IT team rather than over it.
24/7 detection and response
A security operations center watches every alert at 3 a.m. and on weekends, with authority to isolate a machine. An alert that waits until Monday gave the attacker the weekend.
Identity and Microsoft 365 protection
Most breaches start with a stolen login. Identity threat detection, MFA everywhere and hardened email close that door.
Evidence for the people asking
Insurance applications, customer security questionnaires and NYDFS, HIPAA and CMMC audits answered from real controls and real reports.
Monitored around the clock, not scanned once a year
A SOC watches endpoints, identities and email 24/7 and responds when something looks wrong. The reports you get are the ones insurers and auditors ask for.
- 24/7 SOC with managed detection and response
- Endpoint detection on every device
- Email and identity protection
- Evidence for cyber insurance renewals
Built for the company being asked for proof
Companies with an IT lead but no security team
Roughly 250 to 1,500 users. Your team keeps the lights on; ours handles monitoring, response, testing and the paperwork that comes with them.
Regulated firms and government suppliers
NYDFS 23 NYCRR 500 for New York financial licensees, HIPAA for healthcare, CMMC 2.0 for DoD suppliers, NY SHIELD Act for everyone holding New York residents’ data.
Businesses renewing cyber insurance
Carriers now check eight control areas before they quote. We put each one in place and fill in the application from evidence, not guesswork.
Twenty-one services in five layers
Every line below is something a carrier, a customer or a regulator now asks about. Buy the full program or the layers you are missing.

Test
Find what is exposed, prove it, fix it.
- Vulnerability scanning: internal monthly, external quarterly, after any material change
- Penetration testing: external, internal, web application, wireless, social engineering
- Microsoft 365 and cloud configuration review
- Dark web and credential exposure monitoring
People
The control that fails most often, measured.
- Security awareness training with phishing simulations, including voice phishing and deepfake scenarios, with click rates tracked and reported quarterly
Govern
A named owner for policy, risk and evidence.
- vCISO and compliance program: NY SHIELD, NYDFS 500, HIPAA, PCI DSS, CMMC 2.0, SOC 2 readiness
- Cyber insurance readiness: application completed from evidence, every control mapped
- Third-party and vendor risk: connected apps inventoried and permissioned
What each Guardian tier already includes
TDS Guardian managed IT carries part of this program in every tier. Here is the overlap, so Guardian and Cybersecurity never read as two prices for the same thing.

Optional with any tier: endpoint backup (workstation data, not a full BCDR solution), Compliance Manager / GRC, and penetration testing. The incident response retainer, privileged access management, mobile device management, segmentation and ZTNA, immutable backup and disaster recovery, and cyber insurance readiness are quoted separately, and the whole program is available without Guardian.
A vulnerability scan is not a penetration test
Carriers and auditors know the difference. We sell both, and the page says which is which.
Vulnerability scanning
Automated and repeatable. Answers “what is exposed” with a ranked list, and we track every item to closure.
- Authenticated internal scans monthly
- External scans quarterly and after any material change
- Remediation tracked in a shared list
- Does not satisfy a penetration test attestation
Penetration testing
A qualified tester trying to get in, with proof of exploitation and a remediation report you can hand to an underwriter or a customer unchanged.
- External and internal testing, annual at minimum
- Web application, wireless and social engineering as add-ons
- NYDFS 500 requires annual internal and external testing
- Report written for third parties, not just for IT
The eight controls carriers check before they quote
We put each one in place, map it to evidence and fill in the application from that evidence. Premiums get defended with documents, not promises.
- Multi-factor authentication on remote access, email and admin accounts
- Endpoint protection with a named EDR product
- Email security with DMARC enforcement
- Backups that are immutable, offline and restore-tested
- Privileged access management and access reviews
- Vulnerability management with critical CVE remediation timelines
- Penetration testing, annual or more often
- Incident response planning and security awareness training
From assessment to a program that holds up
1. Security assessment
We review your controls against the eight insurance areas and the framework that applies to you, and show you the gaps in plain language.
2. Deploy the managed layers
EDR, MFA, email security, backup and SOC onboarding first. These close the most risk fastest.
3. Test and prove
Scans monthly, penetration test annually, reports written so they can go to an underwriter or a customer as they are.
4. Govern and renew
Quarterly review, an evidence pack kept current, and the insurance application filled in when renewal comes around.
Assessment first, then Long Island cybersecurity services you can show a carrier
Every engagement starts with a baseline assessment. The findings become a prioritized plan, and the plan becomes the controls your insurer and customers want to see in writing.
- Baseline assessment with a scored report
- Prioritized remediation plan
- Policies and controls documented
- Penetration testing available as an add-on

Long Island cybersecurity services: frequently asked questions
Do I need TDS Guardian to buy TDS Cybersecurity?
No. Guardian Plus and Elite already include the core of this program, and the tier table above shows exactly what. Everything else, and the whole program for companies that manage their own IT, is available on its own.
Who is actually watching the alerts?
A 24/7 security operations center working with TDS. TDS owns the relationship, the escalation path and the response on your systems. You have one number to call, and it is ours.
How does this protect us from ransomware?
In layers. Endpoint detection and response stops the encryption behaviour on the machine, the 24/7 SOC isolates the device and works the incident, email security filters the phishing message that usually starts it, and Microsoft 365 and SaaS backup gives you a clean copy to restore from. Vulnerability scanning and patching close the holes attackers use to get in. No single product stops ransomware, which is why TDS Long Island cybersecurity services cover all five layers. CISA’s StopRansomware guidance lists the same controls.
What is managed detection and response (MDR)?
MDR is a security team watching your endpoints, identities and cloud accounts around the clock and acting on what they see, not just sending alerts. With TDS Cybersecurity that means a 24/7 security operations center that investigates, contains and escalates through TDS, so an alert at 2 a.m. is handled before your staff arrive.
Is a vulnerability scan the same as a penetration test?
No. A scan is automated and tells you what is exposed. A penetration test is a person attempting to get in and proving it. Carriers and NYDFS 500 ask for the test. We provide both and the reports say which is which.
Will this get my cyber insurance application approved?
We cannot promise what an underwriter decides. What we do is put the eight control areas carriers check in place, document them, and fill in the application from that evidence. That is what gets applications approved and premiums defended.
Which compliance frameworks do you support?
NY SHIELD Act, NYDFS 23 NYCRR 500, HIPAA, PCI DSS, CMMC 2.0 and SOC 2 readiness. The vCISO service gives you a named owner for policy, risk assessment, evidence and audit support.
How is it priced?
Long Island cybersecurity services from TDS are priced per user per month for the managed layers and per engagement for testing, which is how this market buys. Scope is set after the security assessment, and the quote shows each layer so you can see what you are paying for.
