Hosted VoIP phone systems for business
TDS Hosted VoIP is TeleData’s cloud phone service. Your numbers, extensions, auto attendant and voicemail run in the cloud instead of on a server in your office, so one phone system follows your team from the desk phone to the laptop to the mobile app, at one location or many. We port your numbers, set up the phones, train your team and support it after go-live.
In business since 2018. Headquartered in Hauppauge, New York, and serving businesses across the U.S.
What is hosted VoIP?
Hosted VoIP (voice over IP) is a business phone system that runs in a provider’s data centers instead of on a phone server in your office. Calls travel over your internet connection. The provider runs the system, the numbers and the call routing; your team uses desk phones, a desktop app or a mobile app. It is also called a cloud phone system, hosted voice or cloud PBX.
For a business, that means no phone server to buy, maintain or replace, and no separate phone lines for each extension. Adding a person is a setting, not a technician visit.
Hosted VoIP or an on-premise phone system
What TDS Hosted VoIP includes
Implementation, unlimited support and number porting come with every license. You pay per user and can mix license levels, so each person gets the features their job needs.
Choose a term from month to month to 60 months; financing is available. The full feature list for each license is on our VoIP phone systems on Long Island page.
Replacing an aging Mitel, Avaya or other phone system
Most of the businesses we move to hosted VoIP are leaving an older on-premise system: a Mitel or Avaya server near the end of its life, a maintenance contract that keeps going up, or copper lines the carrier wants to retire.
- Keep compatible phones. Many Mitel and Yealink desk phones can be set up on TDS Hosted VoIP. We review your current models during the quote and list the ones that carry over.
- New phones where needed. We supply Yealink desk phones, delivered set up and labeled.
- No gap in service. Your old system stays up until the new one answers.
Keep your numbers: porting and cutover
Number porting is included. We file the port with your current carrier, schedule the cutover date and handle the paperwork. Phones are programmed before they arrive, users are shown the basics before cutover, and the same TeleData team supports you after go-live.
One extension on the desk phone, laptop and mobile app
TDS Hosted VoIP runs on desk phones, softphones and the mobile app at the same time. A call to your extension rings at the office, on your laptop at home and on your cell in the car. Voice, business texting, team chat, video meetings and fax to email work from the same apps.
Built for multi-location and remote teams
One phone system, one dial plan and one bill across every location. Extensions dial each other between sites, calls route to whoever is available, and remote staff use the same extension from anywhere with an internet connection.
Microsoft Teams calling with TDS Teams Calling
If your company works in Microsoft Teams, TDS Teams Calling puts business calling inside Teams on your TDS numbers. Direct Routing is our standard approach: Teams becomes the phone, and TeleData manages the numbers and routing. Prefer to keep your TDS phone system as it is? Teams can run as a softphone on it instead. How TDS Teams Calling works

Installed and supported wherever you are
TeleData is headquartered in Hauppauge, New York. Hosted VoIP is delivered to businesses across the U.S.:
- On-site installation by our own technicians, who travel to customer locations for installations, scheduled around each project’s scope.
- Remote setup when on-site work is not needed: phones arrive programmed and labeled, and we walk your team through the apps.
- Network readiness: we check bandwidth and set up your router and switches so voice traffic gets priority, and calls can fail over to the mobile app if the office connection drops.
- One support team for adds, moves and changes after go-live, through the TeleData help desk.
Choosing a hosted VoIP provider
Questions worth asking any hosted VoIP provider, and our answers:
E911 support
TDS Hosted VoIP supports E911 under Kari’s Law and RAY BAUM’s Act. When someone dials 911, emergency services receive that user’s registered location, and you can change a user’s location whenever they move.

Hosted VoIP: frequently asked questions
What is hosted VoIP?
Hosted VoIP is a business phone system that runs in a provider’s data centers instead of on a server in your office. Calls run over your internet connection, and your team uses desk phones, a desktop app or a mobile app on the same extension.
How is hosted VoIP different from an on-premise PBX?
An on-premise PBX is a phone server you own, house and maintain. With hosted VoIP, the system is hosted and managed for you, so there is no phone server to buy or replace, and adding or moving users does not need a technician visit.
Can we keep our phone numbers?
Yes. Porting comes with every license. We handle the request with your current carrier and set a cutover date, so your numbers keep working through the move.
Can we keep our existing desk phones?
Often, yes. Many Mitel and Yealink models can be set up on TDS Hosted VoIP. During the quote we review the phones you have and tell you which ones carry over and which to replace.
Do you install outside New York?
Yes. TeleData is headquartered in Hauppauge, New York, and serves businesses across the U.S. Our own technicians travel to customer locations for on-site installations, scheduled around each project’s scope, and many setups can be done remotely with phones shipped programmed.
Does it work with Microsoft Teams?
Yes. TDS Teams Calling connects Microsoft Teams to TDS Hosted VoIP through Direct Routing, or runs Teams as a softphone on your TDS phone system, so your team can make and take business calls inside Teams.
Is 911 supported?
Yes. TDS Hosted VoIP supports E911, so a 911 call carries the caller’s registered location. Locations can be updated as staff move.
What does hosted VoIP cost?
Hosted VoIP is priced per user per month by license level, and that includes the calling, the features and the support. Contracts range from month to month to 60 months. We quote against what you pay today after a short call.
